Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive in Havana

Welcome to Havana, home to sparkling Caribbean beaches, colorful streets, and dazzling culture. Settle in and get to know your group.

This tour requires a visa for U.S. citizens. Check entry requirements or call us with questions at 800-766-2645.

    Today's highlights:

    • Meet an EF representative at the airport and head to your accommodations.
    • Familiarize yourself with the sights and sounds of your neighborhood in Havana.
    • Get to know your fellow travelers before you explore Cuba together.
  • Day 2: Sightseeing tour of Havana + Welcome Dinner

Explore the heart of Old Havana with a local architect as your guide, admiring the facades in Plaza Vieja and the cobblestones of San Francisco Square. Then cruise through the city in the most quintessentially Cuban ride possible.

    Today's highlights:

    • Visit Arte Corte, a community-building project and outreach program.
    • Get stuffed on empanadas at a paladar—a family run restaurant.
    • Take a ride through the Miramar neighborhood in a restored, 1950s, American classic car.
  • Day 3: Tour Havana

Today, you’ll experience the past, present, and future of Cuban culture. Meet local artisans, taste authentic bites, and immerse yourself in the vibrant community that is Havana.

    Today's highlights:

    • Pick up some local crafts and souvenirs at the San Jose Craft Market.
    • Visit a local art studio to meet and mingle with some Cuban creators.
    • Hit up the bar at Hotel Nacional for the best mojito in Cuba. Hands down.
  • Day 4: Travel to Trinidad via Cienfuegos

Onward to the southern coast, to Cienfuegos. Fun fact, the Historic Center of Cienfuegos was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005—thanks to its stunning neoclassical architecture. PS–Cienfuegos was first settled by pirates. Yikes.

    Today's highlights:

    • Before departing, tour the legendary Romeo y Julieta cigar factory.
    • Grab your e-bike and ride along the Cienfuegos Malecón (seawall), admiring the ocean and architecture.
    • Take on a kayaking adventure off Punta Gorda.
    • Arrive in Trinidad for an included dinner with your group.
  • Day 5: Tour Trinidad + coffee farm tour

Another day, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Welcome to Trinidad—a frozen-in-time town that’s overflowing with culture, color, and energy.

    Today's highlights:

    • Visit Topes de Collantes for a tour of the Casa Museo del Café coffee farm. Caffeine included.
    • Put on your dancing shoes and master the salsa with help from local instructors.
    • Catch up with a local marine biologist and go snorkeling at Playa Ancón.
  • Day 6: Travel to Remedios via Sancti Spíritus

On your way to Remedios, stop in Sancti Spíritus for a guided tour of one of the oldest European settlements in Cuba. From there, it’s off to Remedios—a small, hidden gem near the Cuban coast.

    Today's highlights:

    • Meet a local guide in Sancti Spíritus, walk the colonial city center, and view Puente Yayabo (a s’cute bridge).
    • Tour Remedios by bicycle taxi aka bicitaxi and get the scoop on the famous Parrandas festival.
    • Join your group for an included dinner in your new neighborhood.
  • Day 7: Explore Caibarién and Remedios

Start the day with a visit to Caibarién, known as “La Villa Blanca” for its white-sand beaches. Then it’s back to Remedios to see how you stack up against some local baseball players. FYI, they’re good.

    Today's highlights:

    • Visit the Marcelo Salado Sugar Mill Museum to get a first-hand look at a once-thriving industry.
    • Ride an antique steam train towards Remedios—alllllllll aboard!
    • Meet up with some Cuban baseball coaches, grab a bat, and see if you still got it.
  • Day 8: Travel to Havana via Santa Clara

Continue your tour of Cuba with a visit to Santa Clara, the city where Che Guevara celebrated his most important victory. Then, it’s back to Havana to finish this trip in style.

    Today's highlights:

    • Meet a local guide for a walking tour of Santa Clara
    • Get caught up on revolutionary history at the Che Guevara Mausoleum.

    Adios, amigos!
Before you head to the airport, make sure to take one more group photo and grab that final mojito. But remember, this isn’t goodbye—because you can always get the gang back together for another trip soon.

Just got back from my trip to Cuba, and the main thing I have to say is to book your trip now! Everything was so well planned and fun that by the time the trip was over it felt like no time had passed at all. I learned so much about the country and culture that the US has kept us away from for decades. Please, if you need a sign that this is the trip to book... See more

      Reagan, traveled Nov. 2023

There is not another trip that you can take that will be similar to this. Yes, bring some liquid iv (buy water every chance you get) and take toilet paper for when you’re not in the hotel, but you will be fine. EF will really take care of the rest and you will learn so much about their culture and way of life. The people are vibrant and kind and love to danc... See more

  • Amazing and Insightful Experience!

      Sarah, traveled Nov. 2023

Cuba was absolutely incredible. The trip was thought-provoking, fun, and never dull. Our guide, Sally, was an absolute joy, super approachable, and made herself available for us no matter what. She went out of her way to make sure our trip was successful. The bus driver, Mario, and local guide, Liuba, were equally as wonderful. The trip was equal parts fun... See more
