What did you expect it to be like to travel with a group you didn't know when you typically travel alone or with friends?

I wasn’t sure what to expect traveling with a group of people I didn’t know, but, as always, I tried to go into the experience with an open mind. It ended up being so much fun to meet so many new people, all with different backgrounds yet with similar interests—especially because we all found ourselves together in Peru! It definitely challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone at times, but I love a challenge! In the end we were all so comfortable with each other.

How did it change the experience?

The people totally made the experience! There is no quicker way to form bonds with people than to travel to a foreign country together! Together we shared many meals, many laughs, and made some truly unforgettable memories.

How do you feel about group travel now?

I’m a fan! Not only was it fun to be a part of a group, it was so nice to not have to worry about anything other than enjoying my trip.

Why is travel greater than things?

Travel is expansive. Not only does it expand your physical boundaries in getting to explore the world, it expands your mind as well. Especially in getting to travel with a diverse group—we got to learn about each other, learn about Peru, and even learn about ourselves in the process, there was so much growth that we all got to take advantage of. The growth that follows experiencing the world through travel is truly priceless!

What’s your advice to future travelers?

Keep an open mind! To step into the unknown, put yourself outside of your comfort zone, take a risk, talk to someone new, you never know where it can lead you!
