COVID Safe Traveler Agreement

To promote the health and safety of all group members on tour during the COVID-19 pandemic, I agree to commit to the following measures and requirements in advance of my departure.
Travel during the COVID-19 pandemic involves certain inherent risks related to the chance of being exposed to and/or contracting COVID-19. I understand and acknowledge that it is not possible to eliminate all such risks related to COVID-19 during travel on my Tour Program. I will speak directly to my own physician with questions pertaining to my individual health and regarding travel at this time.
If I have tested positive for COVID-19 within a 90-day period prior to departure, I have met all CDC guidelines for leaving isolation and/or have received proof of recovery documentation from my physician.
I represent that I will be fully vaccinated by the time of my departure. Under certain circumstances, receiving a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of my departure may be an acceptable replacement for this vaccination requirement. EF will have previously notified me in writing if this exception applied to my tour itinerary and, if so, I represent I will meet all such requirements by the time of my departure.
I agree to take all reasonable efforts to minimize my exposure to COVID-19 within the two weeks prior to my tour departure. If I am made aware that I have been in close contact (as defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes over a 24-hour period) with a person diagnosed within COVID-19 within 14 days of my tour departure date, I will refrain from traveling and contact EF Ultimate Break immediately.
I agree to immediately contact EF Ultimate Break] if I experience symptoms associated with COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to travel, including:
- Fever or chills
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Muscle or body aches
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
I understand and will follow the travel guidelines of my local or state public health authorities, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control related to travel in general and any that apply specifically to the locations I will visit on my Tour Program and my return home after my Tour Program.
I will consult and follow the requirements and guidelines from the airline carriers, connecting airport authorities and arrival airport authorities.
Staying healthy throughout the tour is a group effort, and therefore I agree to the following requirements to help keep myself and my fellow travelers as safe as possible on tour.
I agree to follow all local regulations, restrictions and advisories related to COVID-19 for my Tour Program. I also agree to follow all rules, requests and requirements from my Tour Director or EF Ultimate Break staff for the health and well-being of myself, my fellow travelers, and suppliers. I understand that if I am unable or unwilling to comply with these requirements, I may be removed from the tour at my own expense.
I will wear an acceptable mask at all times on tour, when required by local law, other relevant authorities, or at the direction of my Tour Director or EF staff.
I agree to monitor my health while on-tour for symptoms associated with COVID-19 every day throughout tour. If I develop symptoms of COVID-19 while on tour, I agree that I will not rejoin my group prior to informing my Tour Director or EF Ultimate Break staff member.
I understand that if a tour member is diagnosed with COVID-19 while on the Tour Program, the person diagnosed with COVID-19 will be required to isolate and the remainder of the tour group will be required to quarantine on-tour AND take tests for COVID-19, in accordance with local guidelines. I agree to comply with EF and relevant authority quarantine and isolation requirements, including those that may exceed local guidelines.
There are a few important things I need to do at the end of tour; understanding and agreeing to these things will help my travel to and arrival back home go smoothly.
I will take a mandatory COVID-19 test (either PCR or antigen viral test) OR have documented proof of recovery from a medical professional, within 72 hours prior to my return flight departing to the US in accordance with U.S. Centers for Disease Control requirements.
I am familiar with and intend to follow the travel advisories and guidelines from my local, state and federal public health authorities upon my return home from my Tour Program, which may include (but are not limited to) COVID-19 testing and a quarantine period.
I agree to notify EF Ultimate Break immediately if I am diagnosed with COVID-19 within 14 days of the end of my Tour Program.
What happens if a traveler does not complete the COVID Safe Traveler Agreement?
If a traveler does not have a completed COVID Safe Traveler Agreement by 72 hours prior to the departure of their flight, they will not be permitted to travel. Their flight reservation will be automatically cancelled, and no refund will be provided according to EF’s Standard Cancellation Policy.
What happens if a traveler completes the COVID Safe Traveler Agreement at 14 days prior to departure, then something changes that they can no longer confirm ALL the points on the form closer to departure?
If a traveler can no longer attest that every point on the form is true, they must immediately notify us by calling 800-766-2645 and will not be permitted to travel. Traveler would have the option to rebook to a future tour, receive a voucher for all monies paid or, be issued a refund for all monies paid less $450 plus any additional non-refundables. For travelers who purchase insurance they may be eligible to file a claim
Who is responsible for securing and paying for the pre-tour PCR COVID-19 test?
Travelers are responsible for securing and paying for their own testing pre-tour.
Can a traveler satisfy the pre-tour testing requirement with an antigen COVID-19 test?
No, currently this requirement must be met with a PCR test.
Does a traveler need to send EF Ultimate Break proof of their negative test, pre-tour?
No, travelers should not send EF proof of their negative test. However, travelers must be prepared to show the results of the test to any other parties that require them on tour including, but not limited to, airlines and other suppliers. The traveler should carry their test results with them for the entire duration of the tour program and it is recommended they make a copy. When the traveler signs the COVID Safe Traveler Agreement, they confirm that they will attain a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their flight departing for tour.
What does “fully vaccinated” mean?
According to the CDC, people are considered fully vaccinated:
- 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, like the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
- 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, like Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
What happens if a traveler gets a positive test result, from their COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their departure for their tour?
A traveler who receives a positive COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to departure, may not travel on their tour. They must immediately call and notify us at 800-766-2645 and we would be happy to rebook traveler to a future tour, issue a voucher for all monies paid or issue a refund for all monies paid less $450 plus any additional non-refundables. For travelers who purchase insurance they may be eligible to file a claim.
What happens if a traveler has symptoms associated with COVID-19 in the 72 hours prior to departure and/or on the day of departure and/or at the airport prior to departure?
A customer with symptoms associated with COVID-19 in any of these periods may not travel on their tour. They must immediately call and notify us at 800-766-2645and we would be happy to rebook traveler to a future tour, issue a voucher for all monies paid or issue a refund for all monies paid less $450 plus any additional non-refundables. For travelers who purchase insurance they may be eligible to file a claim
What happens if a traveler refuses to follow EF and/or local guidelines while on tour?
In addition to being subject to local penalties for the failure to follow local regulations (which may include measures like fines, tickets, imprisonment, etc.), if there are multiple instances of a traveler refusing to follow EF’s guidelines or local regulations, they will be removed from the tour and sent home at their own expense.
What kind of mask is acceptable for on tour?
What is acceptable:
✓ Medical procedure masks
✓ Masks that fit properly (snugly around the nose and chin with no large gaps around the side of the face)
✓ Masks made with breathable fabric (such as cotton)
✓ Masks made with tightly woven fabric (i.e., fabrics that do not let light pass through when held up to a light source)
✓ Masks with two or three layers
✓ Masks with inner filter pockets
What is NOT acceptable:
X Masks that do not fit properly (large gaps, too loose or too tight)
X Masks made from materials that are hard to breathe through (such as plastic or leather)
X Marks made from fabric that is loosely woven or knitted, such as fabrics that light pass through
X Masks with one layer
X Masks with exhalation valves or vents
X Wearing a scarf/ski mask
Does a traveler need to wear a mask on tour, when required, if they have been fully vaccinated AND/OR have recovered from COVID-19 within the last three months?
What happens if a traveler develops any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19 while on tour?
If a traveler has any symptoms associated with COVID-19 they should immediately contact their Tour Director and should NOT participate (at minimum) that day’s tour activities. Depending on the situation, the traveler may be required to visit with a doctor, take a COVID-19 test and/or quarantine in their hotel room. Additionally, we will follow all local public health guidelines in this scenario which may involve required visit with a doctor, a COVID-19 test and/or a quarantine period.
What happens to the individual traveler who tests positive for COVID-19?
The individual who tests positive for COVID-19 will be isolated according to, at minimum, local public health guidelines. Generally speaking, travelers should expect to stay in their hotel rooms (likely in a single room) and food will be delivered to the hotel rooms. Travelers who need medical attention due to contracting COVID-19 will be connected with local medical professionals. This may involve bringing a medical professional to the hotel, or the traveler to a local medical facility depending on the location and nature of the situation.
