To promote the health and safety of all group members on tour during the COVID-19 pandemic, I agree to commit to the following measures and requirements in advance of my departure.

COVID-19 Risks

Travel during the COVID-19 pandemic involves certain inherent risks related to the chance of being exposed to and/or contracting COVID-19. I understand and acknowledge that it is not possible to eliminate all such risks related to COVID-19 during travel on my Tour Program. I will speak directly to my own physician with questions pertaining to my individual health and regarding travel at this time.

COVID-19 Recovery

If I have tested positive for COVID-19 within a 90-day period prior to departure, I have met all CDC guidelines for leaving isolation including waiting the recommended 10-day waiting period before traveling and/or have received proof of recovery documentation from my physician.

COVID-19 Vaccine

I represent that if I am enrolled on an international travel program I will be fully vaccinated against
COVID-19 by the time of my departure. The CDC defines fully vaccinated as two weeks after receiving the last recommended vaccine dose. I am aware that certain destinations may have wait periods longer than two weeks before those with a single-dose vaccine are considered fully vaccinated.

Pre-Departure COVID-19 Testing

I agree to take and receive a negative result from one of the following COVID-19 testing options prior to departure:
i. a PCR test administered within 72 hours of tour departure;
ii. a supervised/telehealth antigen test administered within 72 hours of tour departure, or
iii. a rapid at-home antigen test taken within 24 hours of tour departure.

I acknowledge that the requirements set by the specific destination(s) on my tour itinerary may have stricter or different COVID-19 testing and timeline requirements (i.e., only recognizing a PCR test administered within 72 hours of departure). I agree to take a COVID-19 test and receive a negative result in accordance with the strictest requirements applicable to my tour.
I will not be awaiting the results of any other COVID-19 tests at the time of departure. I will carry my test results with me at all times throughout the duration of the Tour Program, as proof of my negative test results when or if required.

Participation and Entry Requirements

I understand that requirements, including country-specific entry requirements, may change prior to the departure of my tour. I will monitor applicable Tour Program requirements and ensure that I meet all requirements at the time of my Tour Program departure. Any testing required to enter my Tour Program’s destination(s) will be at my own expense.

I also acknowledge that destinations may have different or additional requirements related to vaccination against or testing for COVID-19 and that these may change at any time. This includes destinations that are increasingly requiring proof of an additional booster shot(s) taken within a specific period prior to departure (e.g., 3-6 months) as a condition of entry into the country/region. I agree to monitor the testing and vaccination requirements and guidance of the CDC and those for all locations on my tour itinerary and will ensure that I am able to meet and provide proof of any such requirements.

I understand that even in destinations where proof of a COVID-19 vaccination is not currently an express requirement for entry, the rapidly evolving restrictions and requirements for non-vaccinated travelers (which include a negative test results within 24 hours of departing for the U.S. and a seven-day, mandatory quarantine upon reentry regardless of test result) currently make it impracticable for my tour to operate without a fully vaccinated tour group.

COVID-19 Exposure

I agree to take all reasonable efforts to minimize my exposure to COVID-19 for the 10 days prior to my tour departure. If I am made aware that I have been in close contact (as defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes over a 24-hour period) with a person diagnosed within COVID-19 within 10 days of my tour departure date, I will contact EF immediately to determine if I am eligible to depart on my tour as scheduled.

Symptoms

I agree to immediately contact EF if I experience symptoms associated with COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to travel, including:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Airline Requirements

I will consult and follow the requirements and guidelines from the airline carriers, connecting airport authorities and arrival airport authorities.

Staying healthy throughout the tour is a group effort, and therefore I agree to the following requirements to help keep myself and my fellow travelers as safe as possible on tour.

EF and Local Regulations

I agree to follow all local regulations, restrictions and advisories related to COVID-19 for my Tour Program. I also agree to follow all rules, requests and requirements from my Tour Director or EF staff for the health and well-being of myself, my fellow travelers, and suppliers. I understand that if I am unable or unwilling to comply with these requirements, I may be removed from the tour at my own expense.

Mask Wearing

Even if vaccinated against COVID-19, I will wear an acceptable mask at all times on tour when required by local law, other relevant authorities, or at the direction of my Tour Director or EF staff.

Health on Tour

I agree to monitor my health while on-tour for symptoms associated with COVID-19 every day throughout tour. If I develop symptoms of COVID-19 while on tour, I agree that I will not rejoin my group prior to informing my Tour Director or EF staff member.

Quarantine and/or Isolation On-Tour

I understand that if a tour member is diagnosed with COVID-19 while on the Tour Program, the person diagnosed with COVID-19 will be required to isolate and the remainder of the tour group will be required to quarantine on-tour AND take tests for COVID-19, in accordance with local guidelines. I agree to comply with EF and relevant authority quarantine and isolation requirements, including those that may exceed local guidelines. I understand that the isolation and quarantine requirements of local destinations are outside of EF’s control and will be determined and communicated directly to travelers by local health authorities and not by EF.

There are a few important things I need to do at the end of tour; understanding and agreeing to these things will help my travel to and arrival back home go smoothly.

Pre-Return COVID-19 Testing

Travelers are no longer required to show a negative COVID-19 test to return to the U.S. per the June 12, 2022, CDC requirements update.

Advisories and Guidelines

I am familiar with and intend to follow the travel advisories and guidelines from my local, state and federal public health authorities upon my return home from my Tour Program, which may include (but are not limited to) COVID-19 testing and a quarantine period.

COVID-19 Diagnoses

I agree to notify EF immediately if I am diagnosed with COVID-19 within 5 days of the end of my Tour Program.

I will immediately contact EF in the event any information included in this certification changes between now and my return home from my Tour Program.

By checking this box and submitting this form, I (or parent or legal guardian if enrollee is under 18 or a minor under any other applicable law) certify that the information I have provided is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge and acknowledge my responsibility immediately to inform EF of any changes to these certifications. I understand and acknowledge that if I am unable comply with these certifications due to health considerations, I must contact EF prior to my departure to discuss my rebooking options.

What happens if a traveler develops any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19 while on tour?

If a traveler has any symptoms associated with COVID-19 they should immediately contact their Tour Director and should NOT participate (at minimum) that day’s tour activities. Depending on the situation, the traveler may be required to visit with a doctor, take a COVID-19 test and/or quarantine in their hotel room. Additionally, we will follow all local public health guidelines in this scenario which may involve required visit with a doctor, a COVID-19 test and/or a quarantine period.

What happens to the individual traveler who tests positive for COVID-19?

The individual who tests positive for COVID-19 will be isolated according to, at minimum, local public health guidelines. Generally speaking, travelers should expect to stay in their hotel rooms (likely in a single room) and food will be delivered to the hotel rooms. Travelers who need medical attention due to contracting COVID-19 will be connected with local medical professionals. This may involve bringing a medical professional to the hotel, or the traveler to a local medical facility depending on the location and nature of the situation.

How long will the group have to quarantine after the individual traveler gets a positive test?

The duration of a quarantine based on exposure varies slightly from location to location and on the specifics of the scenario. As a point of reference, currently the CDC recommendation for a quarantine ranges from 7 – 14 days. The duration of the quarantine ultimately depends on a combination of factors like exposure timeframe, symptoms, and testing. Generally speaking, most countries’ public health entities recommend/require a quarantine period within this range.
