Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Quito

Welcome to Ecuador! Quito is the second highest capital city in the world, soaring 9,000 feet above sea level. Deep breaths, because you’re in for an adventure (and because the air is thinner).

Today’s highlights
  • Meet an EF representative and fellow travelers as they arrive at the airport.
  • Transfer to your hotel to check in and check out your room.

Day 2: Explore Quito + Welcome Dinner

Get to know Quito, a cultural melting pot with Andean Mountain views and the first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Process the fact that you’re smack dab in the middle of the world, then gawk skyward at Cotopaxi, a towering active volcano.

Today’s highlights
  • Stroll through the historic Old Town and Plaza de la Independencia, the main public square, on a city tour with your Tour Director.
  • Visit some of Quito’s beautiful churches and catch views from the Virgen del Panecillo.
  • Plant your feet on either side of the equator at Mitad del Mundo.
  • Enjoy a Welcome Dinner with fellow travelers at an authentic local spot.

I cannot recommend this trip enough. Quito is a really cool city with a lot to do, and the Galapagos Islands are a literal paradise. The cruise ship is small, and the activities are excursion style. Saw all the wildlife I had on my checklist. Fatima is an amazing tour guide!...

My first tour with EF and it was amazing! This tour is a little fast paced without much downtime but I say that appreciatively. I was able to see and learn so much about Ecuador and the Galapagos. I honestly can’t wait to book my next trip and I would suggest making the leap if...

This trip was so much fun! It was my first trip with EF and it was fantastic. The cruise is full of activities with hiking, snorkeling, and karaoke. Pack dri-fit adventure clothes for the islands because you’ll be coated in sunscreen and sweat. This is a bucket list item for...
