  • Day 1: Overnight flight

    Board your overnight flight to Tokyo, the—drumroll please—biggest city in the whole wide world. Oh, and it’s also the capital of Japan.

  • Day 2: Arrive in Tokyo

    Welcome to Tokyo, where there are vending machines for everything, neon lights everywhere, and more Michelin-starred restaurants than the entire rest of the world combined.

    • Land at the airport and meet an EF representative.
    • Transfer to your accommodations, check in, and start to meet your fellow travelers.
    • Receive the latest schedule from your Tour Director.
  • Day 3: Tour Tokyo + Welcome Dinner

    Quick! What’s trending right now? Well, whatever it is—it probably started in Tokyo. Today, you’ll explore the ins and outs of this city on the cutting edge.

    Today's highlights:

    • Check out the latest fashion trends as you walk through the Harajuku neighborhood.
    • Keep pure thoughts as you enter the Sensoji Temple and Shrine.
    • Enjoy a Welcome Dinner with your group at an authentic local spot.
  • Day 4: Free time + sushi making experience

    Today is all you. Dive into high fashion, a big bowl of ramen, or everything ancient. In the afternoon, join your group for a visit to the world’s largest fish market and a sushi making class.

    Tokyo Skytree: Head way, way, waaay up to the observation deck of the world’s tallest tower. At 2,080 feet, it’s safe to say this is the best view in Tokyo.

  • Day 5: Free day + included dinner

    Remember, you’re in the biggest city in world, so there’s plenty to see and do. Work up an appetite as you wander the five wards of central Tokyo—tonight, we eat.

    • Soak up the sites and sounds of the city either solo or with your group.
    • Join your group at a local restaurant for an authentic Japanese meal.

    Free time suggestions

    Ota Memorial Museum of Art: Immerse yourself in traditional Japanese art, including woodblock prints and the iconic work of Katsushika Hokusai.

    Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden: One of Tokyo’s largest parks, it’s a great place to chill, have a picnic, and take a scenic walk.

  • Day 6: Free day + optional Hakone day trip

    Want to continuing immersing yourself in the culture and convenience stores of Tokyo? That’s cool. Want to head to an active volcano? That’s cool, too.

    Free time suggestions

    Rainbow Bridge: Get your steps in and enjoy incred views of Tokyo as you cross the Tokyo Bay Connector Bridge by foot. Pro tip: go at night.

    Omoide Yokocho: Translation: memory lane. This unique alleyway is home to some of the best food and drink Tokyo has to offer.

    Hakone day trip (extra cost)

    Ride in a cable car to catch views of Mt. Fuji, then cruise on Lake Ashi to its iconic torii gate.

  • Day 7: Free day + Farewell Dinner

    It’s your last full day in Tokyo—tragic. But hey, let’s make the most of it, shall we? And by make the most of it we mean eat every bite of sushi and mochi you can find. At night, share some laughs at an included Farewell Dinner with your group.

  • Day 8: Fly home

    Sayōnara, tomodachi!
    Translation: goodbye, friends! Your next destination awaits—home. But this isn’t goodbye. It’s “See you later.” The only question is, where?

    Mike went above and beyond to make sure we experienced as many cool things as possible in Tokyo. I could not recommend this enough, especially if you have Mike as the tour director.
