• Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory. Around 10–15% at restaurants is standard if service isn’t already included. Check your bill first. 

• The weather is unpredictable. Pack a light layer and a compact umbrella no matter what the forecast says. 

• Pubs are a cultural institution. They’re not just bars—they’re community spaces. Don’t be surprised if you end up staying for three rounds. 

• Mind the gap. Literally. The Tube announcements aren’t just for tourists.
