Itinerary

Map of Brazil showing a travel route with stops in Manaus, Amazon Lodge, Pantanal, Bonito, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo, featuring plane icons.

Day 1: Overnight flight

Your Brazilian adventure is finally here. Feeling energized? Blast some Samba music. Rather unwind? Go for jazzy Bossa Nova. Both originated in Brazil, both are a vibe, and both will get you in the mood for the amazing trip ahead.

Day 2: Arrive in Rio de Janeiro + Welcome Dinner

Bem-vindo a Rio! Every year, millions visit this city for its infectious energy, golden beaches, off-the-charts nightlife, and giant statue of Jesus. Rio is a city of stark contrasts—glamorous beach clubs exist near humble hillside favelas—yet its vibrant spirit is present everywhere you go. By day, you can sip fresh coconut water and caipirinhas by the ocean. By night, you can dance until the sun comes up. Rio is a vibe you’ll wish you could bring home in a bottle.

In the evening, enjoy your Welcome Dinner at the hotel. Hosted by your Tour Director, this kickoff dinner is all about meeting your fellow travelers, swapping stories, and easing into the rest of the trip ahead.

Today’s highlights
  • Arrive at the airport in the morning and meet up with your Tour Director and fellow travelers before heading to your accommodations.

  • Get to know your group at an included Welcome Dinner of authentic local cuisine.

Free time suggestions

Cafezinho: Coffee in Brazil isn’t just a drink, it’s a ritual. Try a strong, smooth espresso served sweetened in a little cup (cafezinho literally means “small coffee” in Portuguese)

Night out in Lapa: This central neighborhood near the iconic Carioca Aqueduct comes alive at night with bars, clubs, and samba music spilling into the streets.

Ask your Tour Director
  • How to use the metro system to navigate the city—there are two main lines that connect the north and south zones.
  • Where to go after dark! Rio is famous around the world for its nightlife, including trendy bars, samba clubs, and rooftop lounges.
