Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to San José
Welcome to San José, Costa Rica, the cultural and political capital of this vibrant, thriving nation. Crack open a coconut and crank up the calypso music, you’re about to get tropical for the next 9 days.
- Land at the airport and meet up with your Tour Director or EF representative and other travelers in your group.
- Transfer to your hotel to check into your room.
Day 2: Travel to Sarapiqui + zipline excursion + Welcome Dinner
Today’s schedule: fresh air and major views with a side of adrenaline. Leave the city behind as you head north to Sarapiqui, in Costa Rica’s northeastern lowlands. This rainforest region shares its name with the river that winds through it, and there’s also a ton of wildlife including toucans, monkeys, and sloths (which you might see as you zipline through the rainforest canopy this afternoon).
In the evening, enjoy the first group meal of your trip! Hosted by your Tour Director, this Welcome Dinner is all about meeting your fellow travelers, swapping stories, and easing into the rest of the trip ahead.
- Hop on your private coach in the morning to travel from San José to Sarapiqui.
- Strap in as you soar among the treetops and take in views of the lush jungle below via zipline.
- Get to know your group and your Tour Director at an included Welcome Dinner.
