Why go?
Respectfully, your college town has nothing on Japan. Where else can you ride a bullet train at 200 mph, explore the neon-lit streets of Shibuya and Dotonbori, snap pics at viral spots like Kyoto’s orange gates, and eat ramen at 2am with your new besties? Eleven days, a zillion core memories, and approximately zero interest in returning to campus.

Itinerary

Day 1: Overnight flight
Get ready to trade your everyday view for the neon-lit streets, serene shrines, and endless ramen bowls of Japan. It’s a long journey to Osaka but once you land...you realize you’re in JAPAN. Catch some zzz’s now or binge through Bullet Train, Blade Runner, or Ghost in the Shell for those “living in the future” type of vibes.
Day 2: Arrive in Osaka
Say konnichiwa to Osaka, one of the liveliest and most dynamic cities in the country. Known as “Japan’s kitchen,” Osaka is a vibrant mix of street food, history, and high-energy nightlife. Get ready to get up close with castle turrets and gorge out on all the sizzling street snacks.
- Arrive at the airport in the morning and meet up with your Tour Director and fellow travelers before heading to your accommodation.
- Start settling in and get the deets on tomorrow’s schedule.
Ask your Tour Director:
- How to say simple phrases like “hello” and “thank you” in Japanese.
- What the best souvenir snacks are: Head to 7 Eleven, Family Mart, Don Quijote, and more.
- How to experience Japanese etiquette like a local: From bowing correctly to dining etiquette, get the insider scoop so you can blend in and respect local customs.
- Where to find the best street food: From takoyaki to okonomiyaki, your Tour Director can point you to the stalls locals line up for in Dotonbori and beyond.
- How to get around by train: They can show you how to use a transit card like Suica and which lines will get you to the city’s best neighborhoods fastest.
- Where to go for nightlife: Osaka’s bars and izakayas are some of Japan’s most fun, and your Tour Director can tell you where to go for a low-key drink or a late-night party.
