Full trip itinerary

  • Day 1: Overnight Flight

Board your overnight flight, bound for Europe.

  • Day 2: Travel to Amsterdam + Welcome Dinner

Continue via train on to Amsterdam. There’s so much to love about Amsterdam, from the canals to the Van Gogh to the legendary laid-back attitude. Home of the famous Red Light District and a population that consists of more bikes than people, Amsterdam is one-of-a-kind.

    Introduction to Amsterdam
Your tour director will take you on a quick walk so you can get to know the area.

In the evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner of local cuisine and drinks with fellow travelers at an authentic local spot. Afterwards, you’re free to take the party elsewhere!

  • Day 3: Sightseeing Tour of Amsterdam (Local Guide)

Get a feel for the city’s history and unique culture as you walk through busy Dam Square. Then take in scenic views of the Amstel River before finishing up in Rembrandtplein, a bustling square packed with cafés, shops, and clubs.

  • Day 4: Free Day Amsterdam

    Free time suggestions

Van Gogh Museum: Get lost in this goldmine of paintings by the troubled artist, including many of his most famous.
Bike riding: Do as the Dutch do and explore the streets on a bicycle; you can find rental shops all over town.

  • Day 5: Train to Paris

Head to Paris! The French capital is visited by more than 30 million people a year, drawn by the famous monuments, great food, and some of the world’s best art museums. Paris is comprised of 20 districts, or arrondissements, so there’s plenty of diversity and personality to discover.

    Bonjour! Welcome to Paris.
Upon arrival, head to your accommodation and drop your bags. Your Tour Director will take you on a quick walk to orient you with the area and point out some incredible landmarks.

Evening Seine Cruise and Eiffel Tower
Float past Notre Dame Cathedral and under some of Paris’s famous bridges, then visit the most iconic tower in the world as its dazzling lights sparkle with the setting sun.

  • Day 6: Sightseeing Tour de Paris + Optional Versailles Excursion + New Year's Eve Celebration

Enjoy a combination bus/walking tour of Paris’ top highlights. Your expert local guide will tell you all about the city as you see its most well-known sights.

Your guide will also take you off the beaten path to some of Paris’ more authentic arrondissements, and give you the inside scoop on Parisian culture. Get to know the fashionistas, eccentric royals, epic revolutionaries, bougie bourgeoisie, and enlightened intellectuals that shaped the City of Light.

    Free time suggestions

Edit Sober: Visit the cafe haunts of literary giants like Ernest Hemingway, James Joyce and many others.
Fall in Louvre: Paris is home to some of the world’s most incredible art collections. Head to The Louvre and Musee d’Orsay. The Louvre displays art from before the 18th century, and houses the Mona Lisa herself. The Orsay is your place for modern art.
Latin Quarter: Around the Sorbonne, the bars and clubs here are open late and frequented by locals and travelers alike.

    New Year's Eve in Paris
Celebrate New Year's Eve in Paris! Join forces with other Ultimate Break groups in the area, and count down to New Year's in style—with dinner, drinks, and a toast at midnight—in a private venue. Stay late, or head out on the town for more fun and fireworks.

    Versailles (extra cost)

Walk through the landscaped gardens, and tour the living quarters of the famous over-the-top palace of Louis XIV. This is where French royalty reveled in their extravagant lifestyle in the decades before the Revolution.

Please note: The Palace of Versailles is closed on Mondays. In the event that the itinerary day containing this optional lands on a Monday for your departure, the optional will take place the following day.

This excursion is pre-book only; if your trip is less than 30 days away, please call 800-766-2645 to purchase.

  • Day 7: Free Day in Paris

    Free time suggestions

Musée d’Orsay – This amazing museum is a runaway favorite for many. See masterpieces by Monet, Van Gogh, and many more.
Père Lachaise Cemetery – Pay your respects to many famous figures, including Marcel Proust and legendary Doors front man Jim Morrison.
Montmartre – This cool artists' haven at the top of a hill has amazing views and the unique Sacré Coeur church.

For more ideas and details, see our Lonely Planet city guide for Paris.

  • Day 8: Eurostar Train to London

Ride a high-speed train under the English Channel to London. What can you say about London? It’s huge, it’s multi-cultural, and it’s brimming with famous sights, fun pubs, great music venues and endless things to do.

    Introduction to London
Your tour director will take you on a quick walk so you can get to know the area.

Sightseeing Tour of London (Local Guide)
Hit the Sightseeing tour of London with a licensed local guide giving you all the inside info. Most of the tour will be on a bus ride around the city—you'll see the famous sights like Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. You'll also get a chance to walk around and explore on foot. If you're lucky you might even catch the Changing of the Guard, a classic London moment.

  • Day 9: Free Day in London + Optional London Eye & Tea

Go big and go British today as you explore the city on your own.

    Free time suggestions

Abbey Road: Want to walk in the literal footsteps of greatness? Head over to this famous thoroughfare and make your way to its southeastern end. There you’ll find the studio where the Beatles recorded their final studio album and the crosswalk they made famous with its cover.
Harrods: You don’t have to buy a ticket to get into the world’s most famous department store, but once you’re inside, all bets are off. At over a million square feet with 330 departments, its motto of “all things for all people, everywhere” makes complete sense.

London Eye & Tea (extra cost)

Fly high on the London Eye: Europe’s tallest Ferris wheel, providing panoramic views of all the iconic landmarks. Then, for a more traditional English experience, you’ll enjoy some tea & crumpets.

This excursion is pre-book only; if your trip is less than fourteen days away, please call 800-766-2645 to purchase.

  • Day 10: Free Day in London

Use this free day to check out and check off anything you may have missed in one of the world’s greatest cities. Dive in and act like you belong with some local slang, try some famous fare (looking at you fish and chips), and explore until you’re too knackered (tired) to continue.

    Free time suggestions

The British Museum: Discover over 2 million years of human history at this free museum. With over 8 million objects and counting, it is one of the largest and most comprehensive collections in existence—so don’t expect to see it all.
Westminster Abbey: This historic, royal church is the traditional place of coronation and burial for British monarchs. The mainly Gothic façade leads to a gorgeous array of paintings, stained glass, and artifacts. Get yourself a ticket and you’ll be treated to more than just a house of worship.

    Farewell Dinner
Share some last laughs (and maybe shed a few tears) at an included farewell dinner with the group.

  • Day 11: Fly Home

    Cheers, mates!
Your next destination awaits—home. Before you head to the airport, enjoy your last few moments together. Take one more group photo. Grab that final drink. (Fine, maybe a couple of drinks.) But this isn’t goodbye. It’s “See you later.” The only question is, where?

    1. Double the fun
A lot of our trips line up back to back! Give us a call—we can help you add another and save big while you're at it.

    2. Go ahead or stay behind
Extending your trip is easy! During checkout, you'll have the option to fly to (or from) the gateway of your choice for an additional fee. We'll adjust your flights accordingly, but you'll be responsible to take care of your transportation, hotels, and other logistics outside of tour.

This was my first time traveling alone outside of the country. Before I left, my stomach was in a thousand knots I almost didn't get on the plane. That would have been the biggest mistake I had ever made, this trip was once in a lifetime. My tour guide, Alex, was amazing. I made lifelong friends and already signed up for two more trips!
