Why go?
Okay, Peru. We have questions. How did the Incas build Machu Picchu up there? How do you make an island out of reeds? And what was in that lunch? Because we’ll have another. Explore Lima, the Sacred Valley, Cusco, and Lake Titicaca with local guides and community members who know them best. Between ancient sites, bustling markets, and time to wander…your questions will be answered.

Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Lima
Your Peruvian quest starts today. Fly to Lima, where you’ll meet your Tour Director and head to your accommodations. You’ll arrive late in the evening, so tonight’s agenda is beautifully simple: plane rot > bed rot > adventure.
Day 2: Walking tour of Lima + Welcome Dinner
Get your first taste of Lima on a walking tour with your Tour Director. Explore Miraflores, where neighborhood parks, ocean views, and busy streets introduce you to life in Peru’s capital. Wander Parque Kennedy, take in the coastal scenery at Parque del Amor, and see Larcomar perched above the Pacific. Between stops, start figuring out which Peruvian dishes deserve a place on your lunch order. This is a very good city to be hangry in.
In the evening, join your Tour Director for an included Welcome Dinner. Get to know your fellow travelers, compare must-do lists, and meet the people who’ll be sharing your next several very memorable days.
- Explore Lima on a walking tour with your Tour Director.
- Wander Parque Kennedy, a lively gathering spot in Miraflores with a supporting cast of the most adorable neighborhood cats.
- Take in the Pacific views and colorful mosaic walls at Parque del Amor.
- See Larcomar, the shopping and dining complex built into the coastal cliffs.
- Enjoy an included Welcome Dinner hosted by your Tour Director.
Barranco: Explore a neighborhood full of colorful walls, galleries, cafés, and creative energy. Wander toward the Bridge of Sighs and leave time to stop wherever the street art catches your eye.
Miraflores malecón: Follow the coastal paths for ocean views and a little fresh air. Find a bench, watch the waves, and enjoy the fact that this is what your afternoon looks like now.
Peruvian lunch: Find a restaurant serving ceviche, causa, or lomo saltado and start getting acquainted with the local menu. Traveling with friends means you can compare favorites and negotiate a few bites.
Ask your Tour Director:
- Which Peruvian dishes to try first and where to find their favorites.
- How to get between Miraflores and Barranco during your free time.
- Where to browse locally made art, textiles, and souvenirs.
