Exploring Venice: 5 Places You Can’t Miss (with a Soundtrack to Match)
Get swept away by Venice—from palaces to gelato shops, here’s where to go (and what to listen to) to get lost in Venice.
Venice is one of those places that doesn’t feel real. Like…who thought of this? Let’s build a city on water and get around by BOAT? (Genius.) There’s something about the city that feels like stepping back in time, there are truly no other words for it.
So, we decided: what if we didn’t just walk Venice—what if we soundtracked it? That’s where “Lost in Venice” comes in, a little video we made showcasing how to get lost in this dreamy city. Different songs match different vibes, because every place in Venice deserves its own moment. We made a playlist, dropped some map pins on some of the must see places in Venice, and basically turned the whole city into a living music video.
Ready to get lost? Here’s where the music will take you.

1. Doge’s Palace
First up: the breathtaking Doge’s Palace, a gothic masterpiece right off the Grand Canal. If you only visit one iconic spot in Venice, let it be this one. This place looks like it was built for royalty, because, well, it was. The outside is all dramatic pink-and-white stone arches, and inside it’s just endless rooms of gold ceilings, massive paintings, and secret passageways. Standing in the Hall of Great Council—where giant political decisions were once made—feels bigger than life.

2. St. Mark’s Square
No list of must see in Venice is complete without St. Mark’s Square, the heartbeat of the city. The square is a little chaotic filled with swirls of pigeons (be warned) and endless people watching. It’s huge, open, and buzzing with life: cafés spilling into the square, musicians playing outside, tourists taking a million selfies (no shame). It’s loud in the best way, and at night when the lights come on, it gets downright magical (an “is this real life moment”).

3. Caffè Florian
Located right on St. Mark’s Square is Caffè Florian, one of the oldest cafes in Europe. Open since 1720, this place feels like you walked into a Jane Austen novel—ornate interiors, velvet chairs, and waiters in tuxedos. You can literally sit where Casanova, Lord Byron, and Charles Dickens once sat (Mr. Ripley too). It’s the perfect place for an espresso and your headphones. It’s worth it even if you only order one overpriced cappuccino (you’re paying for the experience, right?).

4. Burano
Next, it’s off to Burano—the candy-colored island pulled straight from your Pinterest board. If you are ever questioning what to do in Venice, come here. Every house is a different bright color and honestly, it’s impossible not to have a good time here. From the architecture to the amazing restaurants, to the welcoming locals, this is the perfect place to continue getting lost (just make sure you don’t miss your ferry back home!)

Bacaro del Gelato
You can’t survive a Venice day without a gelato break, and Bacaro del Gelato is the place. It's not flashy—just a small counter by a bridge—but the gelato is next-level creamy. It’s the perfect way to end a day of wandering the floating city—a sweet finale to a perfect day in Venice. (Tip: you MUST get the gelato in a brioche bun, you’ll thank me later.)

So yeah. If you’re dreaming about Venice (and you should be), here’s your invitation to get lost — headphones on, eyes wide open. Watch the video, queue up the playlist, follow the map, and go live your best main character life on the canals.
Because sometimes the best plan is no plan at all.
