Your Travel ‘What Ifs’ Answered: Finances, Flights, and Feelings
Let’s break down some of your most-asked questions about booking a trip with Ultimate Break.
Planning a trip is super exciting, but it can also come with a whole lot of questions, everything from “How am I going to pay for this?!” to “What if my flight gets delayed and I miss my connection?” and “Siri, can you tell me how not to chew all my fingernails waiting for takeoff?” This is all totally normal—and it doesn’t have to stop you from going or having a great time. Whether you’re trying to figure out how to afford the trip, how you’ll actually get there, or how you'll deal with your anxiety along the way, here are some tips for tackling all of it head on (you can also get answers to many other q’s via our Help Center).

What if: I’m worried about paying for my trip?
One of the biggest roadblocks to traveling is money—but that’s exactly why Ultimate Break offers a few easy ways to pay for your trip and save some cash.
Payment plans
Ultimate Break offers interest-free payment plans so you can pay for your trip over time. The most popular (and recommended) is automatic monthly or bi-weekly payments—set it and forget it—but you can also pay at your own pace with no fixed schedule. It’s also worth noting that when you add airfare and any optional activities to your booking, those costs are also rolled into your payment plan so everything is taken care of at once, in the same place. EASY.
Sales and promos
Who doesn’t love a good discount? Sign up for Ultimate Break emails and text messages so you’re the first to know when trips go on sale or there’s a fun little promo code to add at checkout. You could end up saving thousands on your trip, so opt in to those updates!
Repeat and group discounts
If you’ve traveled with us before, you’re eligible for a repeat discount on future trips with an auto-applied repeat code. Ultimate Break also has a great groups program—recruit friends to travel with you on an Ultimate Break trip, and everyone gets a discount, plus you could go for free (or save a bunch at the very least).
Shop by monthly budget
We’ve got a handy page that organizes trips by how much they’ll cost you per month. If you’re cost-conscious but still want to travel, it’s a super convenient way to find a trip that fits your personal finance situation.
Travel insurance
When all is said and done, you’ve started your automatic payments and research for the trip is in full swing, things can still come up that affect your plans. When you add Enhanced Travel Protection to your trip, you’ll have peace of mind that you can rebook your trip or cancel any time, for any reason, for a full refund.

What if: There’s an issue with my flights?
When you book flights with Ultimate Break, we automatically handle your round-trip airfare and transfers to and from the airport at the beginning and end of your trip. When you let us handle your flights, there's way less mental load—and more room to focus on the fun stuff. For special requests and changes to your flights, here’s what to do.
For delays and/or cancellations
In the event of any changes to your flights schedule, you’ll need to reach out directly to the airline, but Ultimate Break’s 24/7 support team is a call away, ready to help you navigate the process if you have questions.
For requests and upgrades
If you want to upgrade to another class, travel with a friend, use airline points, or make changes like adding extra travel before or after your trip, just ask—but make sure you do as soon as possible after booking; don’t wait until your flight info is available in your Ultimate Break app. Your Trip Specialist can work with our Flights team to look into custom options, though any extra costs depend on how close you are to departure.

What if: I have travel anxiety?
International travel and flying can stir up a lot of conflicting emotions, and travel anxiety and flight anxiety are totally normal. But according to EF’s behavioral-health expert Barbara Kamholz, it doesn’t have to stop you from fully experiencing your trip—you just need some strategies.
Before you take off, talk things out with someone you trust, prepare the practical stuff (meds, apps, etc.), and set realistic expectations. During the trip, focus on what you can control: use alarms, stay organized, and remind yourself others are likely feeling the same way. Challenge your worst-case thinking by questioning how realistic those thoughts are. And after the trip, expect a comedown. Rest, stay connected with people you met, and bring parts of your “travel self” home. And if you’re struggling, reach out for support. The bottom line is, be gentle with yourself, you’re only human!
For more about mitigating those travel jitters, read through this blog from Barbara Kamholz.
At the end of the day, every traveler deals with some combination of questions, nerves, and excitement. If you want to talk through which trip to choose, how to pay for it, or anything else on your mind, give us a call to chat with someone. You’ve got this—and your future self is already cheering you on.
