Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Lima

Board your flight and prepare to touch down in one of South America’s most dynamic capitals. You’ll arrive in Lima late tonight, where a warm welcome (and probably a good night’s sleep) await.

Today’s highlights
  • Land at the airport and meet an EF representative.
  • Transfer to your accommodations and check in.
  • Meet your Tour Director and get deets on the schedule

Day 2: Sightseeing tour of Lima + Welcome Dinner

Wake up to the hum of Lima—a city where Spanish colonial plazas meet colorful modern districts. Today, a local guide will take you on a deep dive into Lima’s historic center, an UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with ornate architecture, grand cathedrals, and centuries of stories.

In the evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner of local cuisine and drinks with fellow travelers at an authentic local spot.

Today’s highlights
  • Explore Lima’s colonial core and visit the Plaza de Armas, the heart of the city since its founding in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro. Marvel at the Cathedral of Lima, home to Pizarro’s tomb and a masterpiece of Spanish colonial architecture.
  • Wander through the 16th-century Church of San Francisco, famous for its intricate wooden ceilings and eerie catacombs where tens of thousands of bones are arranged in geometric patterns beneath your feet.
  • Dive into modern Lima and cruise along the coast through Miraflores, where glass towers and surf beaches meet flower-lined parks and paragliders soaring over the Pacific. Swing through Barranco, the city’s bohemian district bursting with street art, indie galleries, and colonial mansions turned cocktail bars.
  • Enjoy your Welcome Dinner! Hosted by your Tour Director, this kickoff dinner is all about getting to know the others in your group and easing into the rest of the trip ahead.

Be warned - this tour has multiple 6am, 5am and even 4am start times. However, it was so worth it to see such a beautiful country and all it has to offer. Highly highly recommend the Huacachina and Ballestas Islands excursion!
