If you're flying into Mexico, the FMM process is typically handled digitally now. Travelers arriving by land from the US should be aware that the FMM process at border crossings can involve a small fee and a queue.

The US is simultaneously one of the most familiar and most surprising destinations for first-time visitors — familiar because American culture exports so aggressively, surprising because the country is so much more varied and complex in person. A few practical things help: tipping is not optional in the US, it's a cultural expectation at restaurants (18–20% is standard), bars, hotels, and taxis. Healthcare is expensive, so travel insurance with medical coverage is genuinely important. The country operates on a patchwork of state laws, which means things like alcohol regulations, cannabis legality, and even some safety considerations vary significantly depending on where you are.
