Itinerary

Day 1: Overnight flight
Sit back, relax, and pass the time on your overnight flight to Iceland by attempting to pronounce vaðlaheiðarvegavinnuverkfærageymsluskúraútidyralyklakippuhringur, the longest word in Icelandic (ironically it means “key to the tool shed”—big word for such a small thing). Memorizing simple phrases like halló and takk will work, too.
Day 2: Arrive in Reykjavík + Welcome Dinner
Welcome to Iceland, aka Land of Fire and Ice (and Land Where Game of Thrones Was Filmed), where glaciers meet volcanoes and myths meet modern day. This tiny island nation is shaped by powerful forces of nature and a proud Viking heritage. You're in for a week of steaming hot springs, jaw-dropping celestial wonders, sparkling waterfalls, black-sand beaches, and some of the friendliest (and tallest) locals you’ll ever meet.
- Meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers as they arrive at the airport.
- Transfer to your hotel to check into your room.
- Enjoy your Welcome Dinner! Hosted by your Tour Director, this kickoff dinner at a local spot is all about getting to know the others in your group and easing into the rest of the trip ahead.
Hallgrímskirkja church tower: Visit the Hallgrímskirkja church observation tower for an unbelievable aerial view of Reykjavík and the surrounding mountains.
Craft beer: For the best craft beer in the city, many brewed right in Iceland, look no further than Microbar and Skúli.
Icelandic hot dogs: Icelanders love hot dogs. Hit either Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur, or the simply named Hot Dog Stand, and get a lamb hot dog with everything: raw onions, fried onions, ketchup, sweet mustard, and a mayo remoulade sauce.

Travelers rave about Iceland's otherworldly beauty, from stunning waterfalls and glaciers to geysers and volcanic landscapes that make this short trip feel like visiting another planet. While some noted the trip feels brief with travel days included in the itinerary and Iceland's high prices can be challenging for budget travelers, most appreciated the well-paced schedule that packed in breathtaking sights like Seljalandsfoss waterfall and relaxing experiences at the Blue Lagoon. Despite the quick pace, travelers loved the perfect blend of guided excursions and evening free time to explore, with many highlighting the sense of safety and recommending summer visits for the extended daylight hours.

Where do I start? If you love to see what this beautiful home we call Earth is all about, you will LOVE this trip! During my early September trip, we got to see it all from glaciers, waterfalls, geysirs, rainbows, volcanic rock, to long green pastures filled with cows and horses...
Great trip overall! Pacing was good and loved all the things we did. It did feel pretty short for the price paid but still had a great time.
Overall, the trip was a lot of fun; however, I wish that the travel days (first and last day) were not included as being part of the itinerary. I say this because I felt that at times the trip felt rather short and rushed since the travel days counted as the itinerary. If...
First of all, Jaime was our TD and he was wonderful!!!! So kind, organized, and thoughtful. If you have him, you will have a great time for sure! The trip itself was good, you see a lot in just 4 days. My only wish is we did more/swapped some underwhelming excursions for more...
This was by far the best EF Trip I have ever been on in all categories! My group was amazing, we all got along and everyone was punctual and on time (which can be hard to get for the whole group). There was not a single issue the entire trip besides the obvious small ones that...
Iceland was an incredible trip! The scenery was absolutely stunning, the food was delicious, and the spa and lagoon experiences were both relaxing and fun. The only downside was the unexpectedly warm weather—I had packed mostly for colder temperatures. Otherwise, it was a...
