Fashion Designer Brooke Barry Turned Her Ultimate Break Trip into a Dress (and We’re Obsessed)
Brooke didn’t bring home just any souvenir from Switzerland—she brought home a beautiful idea.
In a recent Instagram video, Brooke Barry (@brookiebarry), a Nashville-based fashion designer and content creator, took travel inspiration from her Germany, Italy, & Switzerland trip and turned it into a dress sketch that’s part travel memoir, part fashion moment. It’s an iconic reminder that travel doesn’t just change your perspective on the world—it can have a huge effect on your style game.
“Traveling to Switzerland with EF Ultimate Break completely reignited my creativity,” says Brooke.
“The dramatic mountains, vibrant colors, and rich culture opened my eyes to new textures and silhouettes I never would’ve imagined back home. Every time I travel, I collect little sparks of inspiration, and Switzerland gave me a whole fire to bring back into my designs.”

Brooke’s design proves what we already know—travel is inspiring, whether you want to escape your shell to make new friends, give haggis a try in Scotland, or create a dress inspired by Switzerland. When you actually slow down and notice the architecture of a Gothic church, the fabrics of traditional clothing, the light on an Alpine peak, you come home with ideas you can translate into something beautiful. "Souvenir” means “to remember” in French—in Brooke’s case, this sketch is a million-times better reminder than a shot glass.
