  • Day 1: Overnight Flight

    Board your overnight flight, bound for Rome: home of democracy, the twelve-month calendar, and the newspaper. So that’s how the font Times New Roman came to be!

  • Day 2: Arrival in Rome

    Welcome to Rome! Your adventure begins in the Eternal City, where enchanting architecture, fascinating history and a foodie paradise are waiting.

    Today's Highlights:

    • Meet an EF representative at the airport
    • Transfer to your accommodation and check in
    • Receive the latest schedule from your Tour Director
    • Meet the other travelers as they arrive

    In the evening, it’s time for our Welcome Mixer. Enjoy appetizers and drinks with fellow travelers at an authentic local spot. Afterwards, take the party elsewhere.

  • Day 3: Explore Rome + Optional Pasta Making

    Tour Rome with a local guide. Then, do as the Romans do and learn how to make authentic pasta by hand.

    Today's Highlights:

    • Join the group in the morning for an authentic pasta-making class and foodie experience.
    • Walk the Via Sacra, the ceremonial and public main street of Ancient Roman life
    • See the ruins of ancient Rome.

    Taste of Italy Pasta-Making Class (extra cost)

    When in Rome: cook pasta. Learn to craft the dough for homemade pasta, and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by your own hands. You’ll also get to taste local snacks and learn about Italian food traditions.

  • Day 4: Free Day in Rome + Optional Vatican City Excursion

    Today you get to explore centuries worth of culinary perfection, unbelievable architecture, and local fashion on your own. And let it be said, Rome looks goooood for being 2,000 years old. (It must moisturize.) Shop, eat, drink, and talk like an Italian (with your hands) during your free day. Embrace the culture and indulge in carbs during your last day in the Eternal City. Plus, if you're up for it, join an optional excursion to the Vatican.

    Today's Highlights:

    • Explore the bustling streets and famous sights while enjoying a cone of gelato.
    • Take your carb overload one step further—by making your own pasta (Taste of Italy Excursion).
    • Soak in the history by exploring ancient ruins.
    • Act like a fashonista on Via del Corso, the main street in historical center of Rome lined with brand names and local eateries.

    Free Time Suggestions
    Trevi Fountain: Rumor has it, if turn your back to the Trevi Fountain and toss a coin over your shoulder, it guarantees you’ll return to the Eternal City. Throw in a second coin, and you’ll not only come back, but also find love. (Significant other not guaranteed by EF Ultimate Break.)
    Shopping on Vide del Corso: Walk down the longest pedestrian street in the city for some prime shopping. Populated by both locals and tourists, there’s room for everyone on the narrow store-filled street.

    A Visit to the Vatican (extra cost)

    Visit the Pope’s house: Vatican City. Take a guided tour of the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica, and get your dose of art history up close and personal—viewing Michelangelo's famed Sistine Chapel frescoes.

  • Day 5: Travel to Tuscany Region via Orvieto

    Board your private coach; you’re heading to Tuscany.

    Today's Highlights:

    • Depart Rome in the morning
    • Stop for lunch in Orvieto; check out the main plaza and other notable landmarks
    • Arrive, and check in to your accommodation
    • Take a brief walk of the area with your Tour Director
  • Day 6: Tour Florence

    Join a local guide for a walking tour of Florence, the compact capital of Tuscany known for its famous Renaissance artwork.

    Today's Highlights:

    • Travel by coach for a day trip to Florence
    • Cross the Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in Florence, home to many of Florence’s jewelers and art merchants.
    • Stroll the Piazza della Signoria, home to the Uffizi Gallery and Michelangelo’s David
    • Visit the Duomo Cathedral. Return during your free time and challenge yourself to climb the 463 steps to the top for stunning views of the city
    • Spend the afternoon free to wander Florence on your own.

    In the evening, you'll head back to your accommodations.

  • Day 7: Free Day in Tuscany Region

    Enjoy a full free day in Italian paradise. With medieval architecture, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and the food and wine of Tuscany at your fingertips, the options are virtually endless.

  • Day 8: Travel to Venice Region

    Next stop: the Venice Region of Italy! Situated on 118 islands, intersected by 175 canals and spanned by more than 400 bridges, this city has had more praise showered upon it from travelers, writers and artists than any other city in the world. Threatened by rising tides, you're going at the perfect moment.

    • Depart Tuscany via coach
    • Arrive in Venice region and check in

  • Day 9: Tour Venice

    Head to St. Mark’s Square to begin your sightseeing with a local guide.

    • Follow the winding Grand Canal through the heart of Venice

  • Day 10: Travel to Lucerne, Switzerland

    All aboard for a scenic bus ride through the European countryside! Watch as rolling hills give way to majestic, snow-capped Alps. You're headed to Switzerland.

    • Depart Venice in the morning
    • Sit back and relax as you take in some of Europe's most dreamlike landscapes
    • Arrive in the Lucerne region and check in to your accommodation

    In the evening, go out for a laid-back night with fellow travelers, or simply enjoy the serenity of this alpine retreat.

    Louis Bar: Ride a funicular to the lobby of this “art deco” hotel, classier than Sir Ian McKellen sipping fine bourbon whilst reading leather-bound literature.
    Alpetizers: Try some hearty Swiss dishes, like rösti (potato cake), chügelipastete (veal with creamy mushroom sauce served in puff pastry), or weiner schnitzel (fried veal or pork; fun to say).

  • Day 11: Picture-Perfect Switzerland

    Situated by a lake and nestled among the Alps, Lucerne is quintessential Switzerland. Today, you'll explore the area with your Tour Director before ascending to the most insane view you've ever seen. Ever.

    • Stop for lunch in Dresden, a city completely destroyed in WWII bombings and rebuilt to its current state

  • Day 18: Tour Berlin

    Today, you'll tour Berlin’s most iconic sites with a local guide by bus and by foot.

    • Walk Kurfürstendamm, the main boulevard, lined with high-end shops, bars and theaters
    • Pay homage to the 6 million people who lost their lives during the Holocaust at the German Holocaust Memorial
    • See what remains of the Berlin Wall, which once divided East and West Germany
    • Visit the Rathaus Schöneberg town hall, where John F. Kennedy made his inspiring, “Ich bin ein Berliner” speech in 1963

    • See Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey, all the while hearing about their unique stories from your local guide
    • Learn how to tell if the Queen is home at Buckingham Palace
    • Check out the medieval Tower of London juxtaposed against the modern cityscape

    Take the rest of the day to return to any of these sites or find some favorites of your own.

  • Day 23: Free Day in London or Optional Oxford & Windsor Castle Excursion

    Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind; join the group for an enchanting tour of Oxford's campus, or take a day to explore London on your own.

    See the countryside roll by as you escape to Oxford, the picturesque city that doubled as Hogwarts and influenced J.R.R. Tolkien and Albert Einstein. After a guided tour, enjoy free time to explore museums, grab a Covered Market lunch, or simply wander through a place as magical as the stories it inspires. Then, visit Windsor Castle, a timeless royal residence, and the site of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal wedding. Tour the priceless objects in the State Apartments with a local guide, and enjoy strolling the grounds.

  • Day 24: Travel to Paris

    Board your train to Paris! Whether you consider it the City of Light, of Love or of Fashion, Paris is unparalleled in its visual splendor, amorous aura, and chic glamour.

    • Arrive and check in to accommodation

    Fall in Louvre: Paris is home to some of the world’s most incredible art collections. Head to The Louvre and Musee d’Orsay. The Louvre displays art from before the 18th century, and houses the Mona Lisa herself. The Orsay is your place for modern art.
    Latin Quarter: Around the Sorbonne, the bars and clubs here are open late and frequented by locals and travelers alike.

  • Day 26: Free Day in Paris

    Today is yours to explore! Paris is immense, yet intimate. While it can be overwhelming at first, there’s a bounty of hidden gems around every corner.

    Go Subterranean: The Paris catacombs are dark, underground crypts where the city’s dead have been buried for centuries.
    Bon Appétit: French food is some of the finest in the world. Demanding customers, meticulous preparation and the freshest ingredients combine for an unparalleled culinary experience. Parisians eat dinner late between 8 and 10pm, so plan accordingly.
    C’est Magnifique!: Head to Montmartre, a neighborhood filled with street art, incredible views overlooking the city and the famous Sacré Cœur Cathedral. This is the perfect place to take a stroll, grab lunch and admire a more authentic side of Paris.

  • Day 27: Travel to Barcelona

    Catch your morning flight to Barcelona, a city of endless parties, wacky architecture and premium beaches.

    • Travel by train from Paris to Barcelona
    • Take an introductory walk of Barcelona with your Tour Director
    • Stroll Las Ramblas, the main pedestrian thoroughfare lined with bars, cafes, shops and street performers
    • Stop in Plaça de Catalunya, the city center where old meets new

  • Day 28: Tour Barcelona

    Experience Barcelona’s unique architecture and atmosphere with a local guide by coach and foot.

    • Explore the Old Port with your guide
    • Visit one of Antoni Gaudí’s greatest works of modernist art, Parque Güell. This colorful park is adorned with tilework, dreamlike structures and not a straight line anywhere.

    Market Down: Visit La Boqueria, the famous market just off of Las Ramblas, with everything from fresh fruits to meats, flowers and sweets.
    Playa Long: Barcelona’s coast is lined with beaches, each with its own personality. Try party-centric Barceloneta, tranquil Caldetes or water sports at Mar Bella.
    Comer Little Closer: From paella, a traditional rice dish, to Basque-style tapas, Barcelona has gastronomy locked down.

  • Day 30: Fly Home

    ¡Adiós, amigos!
    Translation: Goodbye, friends. Your next destination awaits—home. Before you head to the airport, enjoy your last few moments together. Take one more group photo. Grab that final drink. (Fine, maybe a couple of drinks.) But this isn’t goodbye. It’s “See you later.” The only question is, where?
